Biography
David is proud to be starting his fourth year heading AHS’s incredible theatre program. In addition to teaching theatre he also teaches film appreciation. He’s directed AHS productions of THE DIVINERS, LARAMIE PROJECT, PETER AND THE STARCATCHERS, THE SECRET GARDEN, THE ADDAMS FAMILY and RENT. He comes to Agoura after teaching for seven years at the multi - award winning Ramon C. Cortines Visual and Performing Arts School in downtown Los Angeles. There, in addition to a full teaching load, he directed productions of THE LARAMIE PROJECT, TWILIGHT LOS ANGELES, CHARLEY’S AUNT and Suzi Lori Parks 365.

David’s credits as a performer range from Broadway, both on and off, to regional theatres across the country. He took over the lead role in Harvey Fiersteins' Tony Award Winning Hit "TORCH SONG TRILOGY", both in New York and on the National Tour opposite Estelle Getty. Off Broadway, he created the title role in "HOUDINI" as well as appearing in a revival of John Herberts' "FORTUNE AND MEN'S EYES". He toured, for over a year, with Mark Hareliks' "THE IMMIGRANT '' starring opposite Charlotte Rae, then later Vera Miles. Film appearances include co-starring with Michael Keaton in the critically acclaimed "CLEAN AND SOBER", "STOP, OR MY MOM WILL SHOOT", starring Sylvester Stallone, as well as over 50 guest shots on such shows as CASTLE, MEDIUM, WITHOUT A TRACE, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT, JUDGING AMY, CROSSING JORDAN, CYBIL, WEST WING, PROVIDENCE, HIGH INCIDENT, WAYAN BROTHERS, PICKET FENCES, MURPHY BROWN, MODELS, INC., EMPTY NEST, SISTERS, and LA LAW to name just a few.

David’s professional directorial projects have garnered numerous critics’ choices and rave reviews. Highlight’s include Norman Lock's, THE HOUSE OF CORRECTION at Theatre 40 in Beverly Hills which was chosen "top 10 plays of 1995" by the Los Angeles Times and won him the dramalouge award for best director. He also received dramalouge awards for his direction of THE IMMIGRANT, THE DIVINERS and THE TWILIGHT OF THE GOLDS.

He has taught acting workshops at over seventy state and international theatre conferences around the country, most recently serving as the keynote speaker for over 1300 students and teachers at the California State Thespian Conference where he has been inducted into the Hall of Fame. He also serves as co-director and co-founder of CAMP BRAVO, a weeklong performing arts camp set in the beautiful San Bernardino Mountains, now in its 26th season. David has created his own educational travel program, BRAVO STUDENT TRAVEL, which brings student theatre groups from all over the country to Hollywood. These custom designed tours are a unique look "behind the scenes" encompassing television tapings, theatre events, in addition to seminars and workshops with entertainment industry professionals. He headed one of LA’s oldest and longest running 99 seat theatre companies, THEATRE 40 in Beverly Hills through four seasons as Co-Artistic Director.
David is a graduate of Florida State University and Ashford University and is the proud father of two wonderful young adults, Andrzej and Nina Rose. Along with his multi-talented partner, Artur Cybulski, he lives in Northridge, CA.
